El exjefe de Gabinete Aníbal Fernández habló de Héctor Timerman en el programa radial «El fin de la metáfora» donde transmitió su dolor por la muerte de su amigo y afirmó que «alguien la va a pagar», haciendo referencia a la persecución política y operación judicial orquestadas por el gobierno oligarca de Mauricio Macri contra el ex canciller, la cual arremetió con denuncias y difamaciones por el Memorándum de entendimiento con Irán – acuerdo que fue aprobado por el Congreso de la Nación-.
